1. How do I submit a film to your festival? Our submissions process is featured on our website, simply go to Submissions and follow the instructions. The deadline for our 2011 festival is December 6, 2010. [Back to top] 2. How much does it cost to submit a film to the festival? Submission to ReelWorld is $10 for shorts & music videos and $25 for feature films. [Back to top] 3. How can I contact your programmers regarding my submission? Our Programming Department can be reached here. Please bear in mind that, due to the large number of submissions, the programming team may not be able to address each submission individually. Please also note that the Programming Department will not respond to questions regarding the status of a submission (ie. Is my film picked?) [Back to top] 4. What do you mean by "diversity?" When we say "diverse individuals," we are primarily referring to individuals of Aboriginal, Asian, Black, Latino, Middle Eastern, South Asian and multi-racial ethnicity. However, ReelWorld embraces the concept of true diversity, meaning that all members of the community are warmly welcomed and encouraged to support and attend the festival. [Back to top] 5. I have an idea for a project - will ReelWorld produce it? ReelWorld does not produce films, television shows, documentaries or other projects. However, we recommend you attend our Festival and Foundation events, such as Face2Face and Indie Film Lounge, as you will be able to find producers and other industry professionals to assist you. [Back to top] 6. Can Tonya Williams come to my event/fundraiser/wedding? If you would like to invite Tonya to an event, please send a formal invitation by mail to our offices. While Tonya graciously accepts all invitations, she cannot guarantee her attendance to every event. Please ensure RSVP information is provided in the invitation, and you will be informed if she will be able to attend. [Back to top] 7. Can ReelWorld teach me how to make films? Through our workshops, panels and programs, you will be given useful tools to start your filmmaking career. Please note that ReelWorld is not a school per se. Through our networking events, you might even meet with a filmmaker who can provide you guidance or on-set experience. [Back to top] 10. What awards can filmmakers win? What are the prizes? Each year, we offer a variety of awards - ReelWorld Film Festival is a competitive festival. Categories include Outstanding Canadian Feature, Outstanding Music Video and Outstanding International short.
