Reelworld Foundation, a registered charity, is transforming the industry by creating mechanisms that hold systems accountable for greater equity.
Funds raised through the Reelworld Foundation go towards the organization’s Endowment Fund for the long-term success of Reelworld, ensuring that Canadian filmmakers and creatives continue to have a resource they can rely on for training, access and opportunities for decades to come. Research
Through in-depth research projects, Reelworld is analyzing the state of diversity in the Canadian screen industry and advocating for systemic change at the policy level as well as within industry organizations.

Ally Award
The Reelworld Ally Award will be presented annually to an individual in the Canadian screen industry whose leadership has been instrumental in breaking down barriers and creating inclusion. It recognizes those who have helped expand the reach of Canadian content by ensuring all talented voices have the opportunity to be heard and seen.
Advocacy
Reelworld’s founder and executive director Tonya Williams also sits on the board of multiple industry and government committees, where she continues to advocate for change for Canadian filmmakers, crew and talent from Indigenous and racialized backgrounds. These committees include:

Reelworld has also contributed to consultation calls and advisory groups for the CMF, CRTC, Canadian Heritage and more.
